Your money

Area never touches, holds, lends, or custodies your rent. A licensed payment partner moves funds bank-to-bank, from you directly to your host. Area sits beside the payment to make it easy and to record your on-time history — never in the middle of it.

The Area Pass & your data

Your Area Pass is a verified rental reputation that you own. It is not a credit score, and Portugal has no consumer credit bureau. We practise data minimisation: when you choose to share your standing with a host or partner, we share only what's needed to prove you're reliable — not your full history. We never sell your data. The member is the customer, never the product.

Draw Day — rules (summary)

Free to enter, no purchase necessary. There is always a free entry route at identical odds to any other route.
Paying never improves your odds. Membership or rent payments do not buy better chances. Free actions (like referring) may earn entries; paid actions never do.
Independently verified. Winners are drawn and verified independently, and announced transparently.
Open to all members. Entry is open to every member whether or not they are currently renting, which keeps it genuinely free with no purchase necessary. A winner who is not yet renting receives the prize as a credit toward their first home with Area.
Eligibility & timing. The draw launches with the founding cohort in Lisbon. Full rules are published at launch.

Legal support

Area's legal support is an assistant backed by real lawyers. It helps you understand your rights and your contract. It is support, not regulated legal advice, and it does not replace a licensed lawyer where one is required.

Landlord guarantee

The rent guarantee to participating hosts applies from month two, under the applicable membership and management terms agreed when a property is listed. Specific terms are set out in the host agreement.

Privacy (summary)

We collect only what we need to run your membership, and we tell you what and why. You can request your data or its deletion at any time. We comply with GDPR. Full details live in the privacy policy at launch.

Terms (summary)

Membership is by invitation and subject to acceptance. Benefits described across this site are what membership provides at launch; some features switch on when Area goes live in Lisbon. Figures, homes, press mentions, and prices shown are illustrative placeholders until confirmed at launch. Full terms of service are provided before you become a paying member.
